There Wasn't Any Point In Dwelling
For years after Sam’s death, his father stopped everyone from laughing in the house. There was no Christmas dinner and everyone in the family knew that they couldn’t come over to wish Sam’s family a merry Christmas or thanksgiving! Little Donald had grown old enough to question this atmosphere in the house and even Ruby remained in her room most of the day. Both the siblings never celebrated birthdays because they knew their father would get angry. Of course they missed their brother Sam but now it had been a long time and they deserved a life! Only when Sam’s father realized that he was losing his future happiness due to the pain of the past did he end the mourning and became normal gradually!
There wasn't any point in dwelling in the pain of the past, not when the future could hold suck pleasure.
